Volkswagen Set To Expand Tiguan Into A Line of Compact SUVs
Here at Bill Jacobs Volkswagen, we’ve noticed that our customers are big fans of the 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan, and we can’t blame them. With more than two million Tiguan models sold worldwide since the vehicle’s debut in 2007, it’s clear that the Tiguan is getting rave reviews in more dealerships than just ours. According to Jochen Böhle, the Volkswagen brand’s head of development, the Tiguan is set to grow from one model into an entire lineup of compact SUVs.
It doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait too long to see what Volkswagen has in store with the expanded lineup. Speaking at the Volkswagen Winter Driving Event, Böhle said that “We have plans for a whole Tiguan family over the next two to three years.” Announced variants include a long-wheelbase version with seven seats, as well as a coupe. And with the Volkswagen brand’s recent debut of the Tiguan GTE Active Concept, a hybrid version likely isn’t too far behind. The brand’s ability to flesh out a full lineup of Tiguan models is thanks in large part to the company’s use of the MQB A2 platform, which can be quickly and cost-effectively configured in a nearly infinite number of ways.
Right now, we’ve got a number of Volkswagen special offers at our dealership here in Naperville, IL to help get you in on all the fun, including a $1000 Volkswagen Reward Card with new 2015 and 2016 Tiguan models.
