For 30 consecutive months, Volkswagen has been singing to the tune of consistent sales growth. In fact, the automaker’s January-to-February sales were the best ever since those way back in 1973.
“February’s sales results and 30 consecutive months of growth reflects increasing consumer interest in our products,” said Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., in a recent press release. “With a full range of fuel-efficient vehicles, seven of which deliver more than 40 mpg on the highway and the best start to a year in 29 years, we anticipate continued strong demand for our vehicles into the spring selling season.”
Sales of more than 60,474 units and an overall increase of 4.7 percent since January-February 2012 were supported by the Jetta, Tiguan and Passat as well as Volkswagen’s clean-diesel models.
