Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan has a program which educates those who have interest in careers in the automotive industry. The school has been offering the program for 50 years and has become a leader in sending its graduates into jobs with car companies.
The University’s College of Engineering Technology’s School of Automotive and Heavy Equipment provides three programs of interest: Automotive Engineering Technology, Automotive Management and Automotive Service Technology and those programs just received a donation from Volkswagen which will help the studies continue.
Volkswagen donated a new vehicle, six engines and seven transmissions so that students might have new technology and mechanical innovation from which to learn. The value of the transmissions alone, according to the Ferris State University website, is approximately $56,000 but as you well know, the opportunity to learn from the transmissions is priceless and the University and its students will benefit in immeasurable ways.
Come see us at Bill Jacobs Volkswagen and we can let you know how Volkswagen, in other ways, continues to stay involved in the community and finds opportunities to give back.
